When Scotsman Angus Greene learns that his sister has run away to London, he chases her all the way to England, determined to prevent her from making a terrible mistake. But when Margaret and Angus meet up at the border, their siblings are nowhere to be found, and this mismatched pair discovers that love often blossoms in the most unexpected places…. She had squeezed herself into an overcrowded hired coach in Cumbria and tried not to breathe when she realized that her fellow passengers apparently did not share her fondness for bathing. All to end up here, at Gretna Green, wet and tired, with little more than the coat on her back and two coins in her pocket. On the Cumbria coach, someone had had the temerity to steal her reticule, leaving her with only the coins that had slipped out and settled into the deepest recesses of her pocket. Margaret Pennypacker was definitely not in good temper.

A land of legend and wild beauty - of clans, lairds, honour, and passion - Scotland forever stirs the soul of romance. There are four stories in this book, and I enjoyed all of them.
Two of the authors I'd never read before, but will be on the look out for more from them! When Englishwoman Margaret Pennypacker learns that her brother has eloped to Gretna Green, she chases him all the way to Scotland, determined to prevent him from making a terrible mistake.
Dodd herself has been a clue in the Los Angeles Times crossword puzzle. Her novels set in Regency England have captivated readers around the globe, making her one of the romance world's most beloved and popular authors.
Julia Quinn started writing her first book one month after finishing college and has been tapping away at her keyboard ever since. The 1 New York Times bestselling author of more than two dozen novels for Avon Books, she is a graduate of Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges and is one of only sixteen authors ever to be inducted in the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame.
She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family. Please visit her on the web at www. Karen Ranney wanted to be a writer from the time she was five years old and filled her Big Chief tablet with stories. People in stories did amazing things and she was too shy to do anything amazing. Years spent in Japan, Paris, and Italy, however, not only fueled her imagination but proved she wasn't that shy after all. Karen lives in San Antonio, Texas. Scottish Brides. About the Authors.

I will always have a fond spot for the anthology Scottish Brides in my heart because this anthology introduces me to Karen Ranney. Christina Dodd starts off the anthology with Under the Kilt. His last excursion sees him getting intimately acquainted with Andra MacNachtan, the only surviving member of a once great clan trying to keep her people together. Her ribs sticking out will make a lovely sight to behold in those love scenes. Okay, so now my enjoyment of those love scenes are ruined as well.
