Those of us who have been practicing plastic surgery for more than a few years have the well-worn predecessors of this work, first edited by John Converse and then by Joseph McCarthy, in our libraries. Coordinating the work of the multiple experts in our specialty who contributed to this new edition was a monumental task, and the completed product has been published in eight volumes.

This work is a testament to Dr. Six different plastic surgeons with particular expertise were selected to review different volumes of Plastic Surgery , and their thoughts follow.

We usually only include the review of two or three newly published books in each monthly edition of our Journal , but because of the importance and special nature of this work, we felt it was essential to publish the reviews of all eight volumes together, rather than separately over an extended period of time.
