The book feels more like a philosophical manifesto than actual fiction. Can't blame it for that, though. Futuristic ideas are fascinating enough and still feel fresh despite 20 years passed since the book was written. The main concept of progress and development of life is also a good one but in the end, the plot and characters was sacrificed to make more room for all the idea-part.

You are too important for this Universe" - it is not irony, it's a quote. Enough to read it twice, actually. And you'll need to do that to actually understand all the details in the first two chapters.

Unlike other Dukaj books I've read, the narration was quite fluent, and the amount of neologisms wasn't that big. Is that because protagonist is still single-threaded? Enjoyed this one a lot.
